I still vividly recall three weddings I coordinated that solidified my thinking on tradition. The first was an old friend who dressed up to get married at the courthouse, and hired a professional photographer to capture it. I wept at the photos of she and her new husband because their love was unmistakable. They had no guests. They had no reception. Just the two of them dressed in formalwear at the courthouse. In that instant, it clicked.

What were each of your thoughts when you met for the first time?

Kameshia: I was nervous but he was so sweet and funny and made those nerves go away quickly.

Jordan: I was excited to meet her because we had been talking for about 2 months before meeting each other. I knew there would be a connection.

Because of the lockdown, we pretty much had Stillwater all to ourselves. It started out kind of like us against the world.

What Ben and Alexis say they won’t likely forget is how intimate and peaceful their wedding was. They only had 11 people present, plus the florist and photographer. “The people at our wedding were those closest to us that we know support us and are for us. It was stress free, full of God’s presence, love, and laughter,” muses Alexis.

Fairly early on, I was drawn to him and I knew I wanted him in my life, even if it was just as friends. Juan Carlos on the other hand had no interest in being my friend and was vocal that he didn't need more friends. Quite frankly, I was stunned, and slightly offended-- I was a cool girl and a REALLY great friend-- how could he not want to be best friends?!
