about b.e publishing™
B.E Publishing™ (formerly Cottage Hill) celebrates the art of uninhibited living, providing inspiration for home, travel, entertaining, wellness, and weddings.
Established in 2014 by Publisher and Founding Editor Katie O. Selvidge, Cottage Hill was the first wedding and lifestyle publication debuting as a blog and print publication. The first print issue, The Homecoming Issue, found its success through a successfully funded Kickstarter campaign and was stocked in all Barnes & Noble and many locally supported establishments.
In 2015, The Captivated Issue and The Pioneer Issue followed, both selling out online. The final issue, The Grace Issue was officially retired this year.
On October 17th, 2019, on the sixth anniversary, Katie announced Cottage Hill’s new owner : Bronwyn Elizabeth Spain (right), former Creative Director of Spain Ranch. Cottage Hill is now known as B.E Publishing™—a publishing company for print, online publications, and education for creatives.
Looking forward into 2021, we are excited to explore new ways of providing original content to inspire uninhibited living. Be sure to subscribe to our editor's letter for more details!
about bronwyn e. spain—owner & editor-in-chief
Hi, my name is Bronwyn Spain, and I am thrilled to be at the helm of B.E Publishing. I was born and raised in Tulsa, Oklahoma, graduated from Jenks High School Class of 2008, and completed a Bachelor’s in Interior Design from the College of Architecture at The University of Oklahoma. If you’re into astrology and personality assessments, I’m an Aquarius and my Meyers Briggs says I am an ENFP-T: The Campaigner. Both are comically accurate. I’m a quirky dreamer who can’t resist a challenge or an opportunity for growth (read : head constantly in the clouds). I am passionate about celebrating true love, the creative industry, and celebrating local businesses. A few of my favorite things include solo travel, meeting new people and hearing their stories, Formula 1 racing, and animals with pun-inspired names (I’m looking at you, Chris P. Bacon and Alexander Camelton). From 2013-2019 I planned, designed, built, and grew an event venue business known as Spain Ranch. For the last three of those years, I dreamed of starting an Oklahoma-based wedding publication. Essentially, the only thing stopping me was a sign that it was the right time. In August of 2019, said sign hit me out of nowhere: I was approached by Katie O. Selvidge of Cottage Hill Magazine to acquire her nationally-recognized publication. I became the official owner in September 2019, and re-branded for brand clarity and expansion. Cottage Hill is now B.E Publishing, and B.E Wed Oklahoma is housed under that brand. When I’m not working, you can typically find me keeping up with my toddler, husband and rescue dog, in the bath, or traveling.
