Cingza & Micah At The Springs Tulsa

Micah knew Cingza was to be in his life forever 7 months after meeting her, he just had to convince her of that. She wanted to take their relationship slow and felt their relationship could be something permanent because of Micah’s sincerity and commitment to their relationship. Five months into dating, Micah wanted his marriage proposal to be a complete surprise.  With the help of family, he was able to access and set up the rooftop of the Philtower in downtown Tulsa and set up the proposal spot. He picked Cingza up for a date with the alibi that they were going to eat dinner after a few stops. First : coffee. Next : the nail salon. Friends were planted along the way giving Cingza encouraging words. Last was the Philtower. He blindfolded her to the Philtower, then left her in the lobby with an instructional poem and an elevator key. She followed the poem up the elevator and through the candle-lit path to the rooftop where he proposed with a poem he’d written

Writing their own vows was important for two reasons: first, they wanted to say them in English and Zopau (Cingza’s native tongue) and second, they wanted to express their commitments in their own words. One of her favorite lines from Micah’s vows was “I’ve waited my whole life for you, and you have been worth every second of it.” His were “you’ve been my best friend, my comforter, and someone I can trust. My whole heart belongs to you.”

They say every guest would say the best part of the day was at the moment they kissed.  They had an outdoor ceremony overlooking Skiatook lake and the whole day to that point was overcast.  However, the moment they were pronounced husband and wife and kissed (their first!) “[A] beautiful ray of sun pierced the clouds and lit up the [entire] venue. It was a moment we’ll never forget,” says Cingza.

We asked what they would remember 50 years from now. The answer? “Our worship experience, partnered with the divinely-provided sunlight, will be remembered for the rest of our lives.” Deeply meaningful to the couple, they incorporated worship and communion into their ceremony. Once traditional, it’s less so now, they waited until their wedding day for their first kiss.

The perfect ending to their perfect day? They were sent off on a boat over the water of Skiatook Lake during sunset.

They note their date night go to is a lengthy conversation over good food.

When asked if they’d like to state anything else, they say they love Jesus more than anything else. “He brought this marriage together and gets the glory for our story.”
