Your Guide to Taiwan
Taiwan is one of those countries that I will never get tired of traveling to again and again. My love for the country started when I was a college student while there on a church mission trip and it continued to grow after my husband, who grew up in Taiwan, and I started dating and got married. It transitioned from solely being a place of rich history for me to another home away from home.
Afternoon Cake with Persimmons Compote and Coffee
A group of Maui, Hawaii friends (and creatives) gathered to compose a table scene featuring an afternoon cake with local upcountry persimmons and coffee. The recipe was lifted from the pages of Julia Turshen's cookbook Small Victories: Recipes, Advice + Hundreds of Ideas for Home Cooking Triumphs.
Simple Toast Party with Recipes
love those plan your own adventure books and thought a sweet and savory toast bar would be perfect as everyone can just pick whatever toppings they wanted and honestly it required minimal cooking. At the most I boiled some eggs. The rest was all plating and arranging. I couldn't wait for them to come and see what combinations they would come up with from all the goodies I had for them.
A Romantic Afternoon by the Sea
When we first saw Hailey and Henry's beautiful session by the sea, we couldn't help but imagine this was straight from a Nicholas Sparks film. We love beautiful sessions, of course, but what we love most is seeing couples genuinely love being together like this. Read more from the photographer Jenzel Velo
Celebrating My 30th Birthday in Santorini
Our friend and photographer Perry Vaile recently celebrated her 30th birthday, and a special surprise, in Santorini this spring. Of course, her photographs are stunning, but we also loved learning more about where she journeyed and why. Enjoy!
The Economy of Being Idle
Inspired by the slow living movement, we wanted to explore the concept of idleness through a photo essay that offers a view on finding solace in everyday hustle and making time for introspection.
True Love on the Big Island of Hawaii
Here, we have Becca and Eryck's beautiful engagement session and a peek into their life on the Big Island. Eryck was kind enough to share some insight to living and getting married in paradise. Enjoy the beautiful photography by our friend Perry Vaile and this lovely couple's perspective of the place they call home. - Katie
A Romantic European Honeymoon, with a Date Night in Paris
Lauren and Illya decided long before their wedding that they wanted to travel abroad. After researching, they realized this would be the perfect honeymoon after they tied the knot in New York. Soon after (their wedding), they embarked on their 6-month European honeymoon.
Simple Beach Hair Inspired by the Gulf Coast
This shoot was inspired by my love of the sea, and all things coastal. I've been coming to the Gulf for 25 years with my family, and I've always envisioned myself having a second home here. I love the idea of having the opportunity to serve brides who see themselves committing their lives to the one they love in a place that they, too, have great appreciation and heart for.
A Beginner's Guide to Houseplants
From a design perspective, house plants are an opportunity to add warmth and energy. Home design is often about balance. When you have so many inanimate things, i.e. sofas, books, etc., adding literal life to a space ups the sense of harmony and completeness.
When a Chef and Floral Designer Fall in Love
Sachi freelances as a floral designer and Joey is a chef. They met while working at a restaurant together and the spark of attraction was immediate (as Joey enthusiastically attests). Despite having moved into their new home just a few weeks prior to my visit, their cozy space was full of artifacts representing their talents and relationship together.
How to Cultivate a Peaceful Wedding Day
This inspirational piece set within the stately home estate of Port Eliot in Cornwall, England, focuses on bringing a sense of calm and embracing mindful moments on your wedding day. Your wedding day will likely be one of the most emotionally heightened days of your life and the pressure that comes with such a profound day can leave many brides feeling emotionally vulnerable; particularly in the hours leading up to the ceremony itself when this can be most keenly felt.
Iceland on Film by Radian Photography
We just returned from the land of fire and ice, where we have been yearning to visit for quite a while. Seeing the northern lights has been a bucket list item for years, and we finally decided to make Reykjavik our annual travel spot because we were captivated by its opposing extremes. Here volcanoes and glaciers co-exist (sometimes right next to each other!), and while water falls from great heights, steam rises out of the depths of the earth. During our trip, we saw the most beautiful of sights and learned the most unexpected of facts that we will absolutely keep in mind when we return!
