The story behind this shoot was to display the stories that live within the venue, inspired by the Mckellar family's history and values. Bob Mckellar, the owner of the venue took over this citrus ranch & upon returning to the 'valley' he rekindled a relationship from high school and married his now wife Ann.

Hygge: (noun) A quality of cosiness and comfortable conviviality that engenders a feeling of contentment or well-being (regarded as a defining characteristic of Danish culture).

At a table surrounded by their closest friends, they raised a toast - to marriage, art, and good food together. The night grew dim, but the sound of a single guitar flooded the evening as stars began to appear and twinkle overhead. They held each other's hands tightly and smiled at the dear faces around the table, content to be in the midst of what they treasured the most.

To me, wedding photography is the ultimate challenge. You have to be a portrait, lifestyle, documentary, landscape, fine art and product photographer all within an 8 hour day!
