Welcome to the first week of the new year, friends. Here at Cottage Hill, our mission is to celebrate lives worthy of an elegant and meaningful legacy, so we are over the moon to be featuring this beautiful shoot from Alison, Silver Cup Artist of Juniper Designs. Alison's own mission for her work is very parallel to our heartbeat and is so evident in this stunning shoot, capturing and celebrating the women in our lives. Here is what she shared with us:

Early spring, while the frost still clung to the grass we created our very first Cottage Hill Original to be published in The Homecoming Issue. The team including Brown Egg Bakery and Silver Cup Artists Ely Fair Photography, Juniper Designs and Christina Leigh Events jumped right in to create a sweet baby shower. Perhaps my favorite aspect of this shoot, is that our very first shoot was not a wedding, but a post-wedding story emphasizing that Cottage Hill is about more than the wedding day. Sometimes I get caught up in the trivial traditions of Christmas. For some it is baking Christmas cookies together, wearing footed pajamas, or setting out cookies for Santa. All of those are wonderfully enjoyable tradition but during the most wonderful of holidays shouldn’t we be more concerned about the truly meaningful traditions? For Haleigh Kenney of XO Events & Design these traditions root back to her Swedish heritage.

For our very last Cottage Hill Original of the year, I couldn’t be more excited. Not only do we have two lovely Silver Cup Artists - Ely Fair Photography and Poppy Lane Design - collaborating together, but the story behind this shoot is something close to my heart. You see, my husband and I are wanting to start a family soon, but we also know that with children, couples can quickly forget to spend quality time, alone, together. And during the holidays, the time seems to disappear even faster. That’s what this shoot is about.
