Spring is finally here and we could not be more excited! When photographer Mariel Hannah sent this engagement session to us, we thought it was a perfect visual description of how we're feeling this season. Here are some words from the bride Paige and floral designer Lotta of Mint Design.

From the Bride

Upon choosing the location for our engagement session I really wanted a place that was a reflection of Josh and I. My desire for these photos was to capture the essence of our relationship in full. Cambria is a charming old beach town off the central coast of California, it has a very relaxed and carefree vibe whilst still having touches of timeless beauty.

Josh and I are high school sweethearts whose love I believe is timeless. Josh has a very goofy and carefree spirit who lives to make others laugh. I, on the other hand, a bit more reserved always in the pursuit of creating beauty. Both old souls, which is why Cambria was the perfect little place for our engagement portraits.

From the Floral Designer

On a warm Spring day, we traveled to Cambria, California. The crisp air and smell of the not so distant sea set the tone for a perfect afternoon. Josh and Paige are a darling couple who I have known for quite some time. Paige has been my longtime assistant and floral design right hand.

We wanted to make her wedding planning experience extra special by styling her engagement session with an overflow of florals and beautiful pastel tones. Lush blooms of garden roses, peonies, ranunculus, delphinium, lavendar, lilac and chamomile to name a few were a part of our floral selection. Settled in front of a running bed and breakfast we adorned Paige's bicycle with florals and greenery as they rode down the streets of Cambria sweetly kissing and gazing into eachothers loving eyes.

Next, we took a small drive to the ocean front pier which was roaring with a strong California wind that made for a romantic stroll setting. Nestled up in eachothers arms the couple posed for the sweetest portraits (taken by the talented Mariel Hannah) and soon to be wed smiles.
