The Beauty of Motherhood

The beauty of Motherhood on a Private Organic Farm Estate

Becoming a mother is one of the most rewarding experiences. My family just welcomed our second daughter earlier this year giving me the honor of being a mother to two. We are so grateful for our girls, but that doesn’t mean there aren’t hard days.

Being a mother requires so much of you, some days can be really really hard. Sometimes the ‘Bermuda Triangle’ of lack of sleep, forgetting to feed and take care of yourself along with giving so much of yourself to these little humans you love so much can make you feel like you’re failing. I’m speaking on experience with this one as transitioning from one to two has been, well, a transition.

When we receive submissions of motherhood sessions, like this beautiful collection, I think it’s important to approach them as creative or stylized ways to capture perhaps not what the every day exactly looks like—those sessions are wonderful and beautiful too—but how the memories you are making and how much you love your children makes you feel.

The realistic imagery of spit-up stained sweatshirts and top knots amidst a sea of laundry and toys is something to treasure for sure—the real life happenings of this season. But sometimes those images don’t convey how you really feel. And sometimes it’s just fun to get cleaned up and dressed up with your littles for something special.

Photographer Katrina Barrow sent us these special images we’re honored to share with you. Here is what she had to say about the session:

It is no secret that social media keeps us close to those far away and far away to those who are close. In the hustle and bustle of today's world sometimes its nice to step back and enjoy the simple life. Photographed on an organic farm and private estate, we wanted to capture a momma and her littles in a most natural and organic form! with Lots of love, great styling, and lush landscape!
