A Wedding at the Drake Hotel in Chicago

A Wedding at the Drake Hotel in Chicago

One of the greatest aspects of marriage is two different people becoming one and creating a life together. It’s fun, new, and can also be a little scary! No matter how similar your personalities or interests, each couple brings differences into their marriage. The most beautiful part of this process is seeing what one person lacks, the other one has to give and vice versa. Fitting these puzzle pieces together creates one really outstanding couple.

Elizabeth and Chris both come from very different cultures - Elizabeth from Germany and Chris from Reno, Nevada. They share a love for European culture and the arts and decided to highlight aspects of the culture they both love on their wedding day.

Because Elizabeth’s engagement ring was modeled after Princess Diana’s, they choose to be married at Lady Di’s favorite place to stay whenever she visited Chicago: The Drake Hotel.  Princess Diana once said, “If you find someone you love in life, you must hang onto it, and look after it, and if you were lucky enough to find someone who loved you, then you must protect it.”

Now Chris is learning German and going to operas with Elizabeth, while Elizabeth is enjoying the adventurous outdoors of the wild west. Learning and growing with your spouse is a never ending process, but it is truly something to celebrate! Change is a sign of growth, and changing some of your ways in order to love your sweetheart better is one of the best ways to grow into a happy, successful marriage. The moment you say “I do” you begin to grow your life together as one. What better way to do that than to embrace your differences and use them to create two people that are better together than they are apart?
