My dear florist friend Heather Page (whose work you are probably familiar with) and I have made a ritual each year of getting together to play when my lilacs, followed by peonies when they are blooming in my yard! It has become a part of our lifestyle.
As artists we truly need these dates throughout the year to refocus and energize our selves by simply getting together to play. We have no agenda and no plans on these days. As we like to joke, we let the flowers and surroundings speak to us and just go with the flow!
We always walk away from these sessions inspired, empowered, energized, and ready to roll up our sleeves and face the real world again with the inspiration we've gained. We both spend the morning walking my yard with clippers and forage all the goodies, throw our bounty into buckets of water and she starts creating while I shoot!

Your wedding day will be filled with moments you hope to be captured as if they were a painting. This inspiration piece was inspired by just that, the slowness and meaningful moments that take place throughout your wedding day and in particular the intimacy between yourself and your family.

As feelings of loneliness creep and mental health takes a slight turn in the wrong direction, I’ve returned to some old feel-good remedies. My special formula? Baking, holiday-themed beverages, cliche (romantic) feel-good movies that will probably leave you in worse condition than you were before you watched, and one-person dance parties to holiday music.

From the flowers to beautiful food, this is definitely a gathering you'll want to replicate!
My husband (A.P.) and I recently took over a 119 year old property with 13 acres of formals gardens. Part of the renovation was the greenhouse that was originally built in the 60's. So, in celebration of the finished renovation we hosted a small dinner in our greenhouse.
Because of all of Amanda's renown beautifully designed cakes (as seen below), earlier this summer, Amanda was also invited by Food Network to design a cake for the show Wedding Cake Countdown with Drew and Linda.
We set off to solve this problem: How to host for Thanksgiving when you have the heart, but no idea how to pull it off. However, it has evolved into much more. We are calling it our "Thanks to You" Soiree.

New England at the end of fall and the onset of winter. This season of change, of grey days and colder nights as the leaves have all dropped, leaving behind a soulful landscape of organic colors and material that aren't truly the end of a cycle, but the beginning of a beautiful time for quiet rest, coziness and becoming more zen.
A group of Maui, Hawaii friends (and creatives) gathered to compose a table scene featuring an afternoon cake with local upcountry persimmons and coffee. The recipe was lifted from the pages of Julia Turshen's cookbook Small Victories: Recipes, Advice + Hundreds of Ideas for Home Cooking Triumphs.
love those plan your own adventure books and thought a sweet and savory toast bar would be perfect as everyone can just pick whatever toppings they wanted and honestly it required minimal cooking. At the most I boiled some eggs. The rest was all plating and arranging. I couldn't wait for them to come and see what combinations they would come up with from all the goodies I had for them.
a couple of new and old friends decided to take the time to get together to celebrate and admire each other's success and passion over a beautiful dinner and great conversations. We encourage everyone to take the time to do the same with their colleagues, everyone has so much to offer, and we knew we couldn't have done it without each other.
