Creating a Legacy with Samantha Kirk Photography
A personal note from Katie: To live a life worthy of an elegant legacy, means to live a life in grace. And in creating that legacy, some days will require more grace than others. The hard, difficult days that cloud the skies and perhaps your heart may span beyond a few pages and may consume a few chapters of your life. Those chapters, are still part of your legacy.
An Elopement in Scottsdale, Arizona
Originally our wedding design was going to be very soft and elegant with lots of blush pink. With the change in venue, we went with something more relaxed, natural and colorful. I love a big, colorful bouquet full of garden roses and different flowers. I felt like the colors and greenery complimented our the dessert and natural surroundings. The inspiration for my bouquet was actually from one of your photo shoots. I just fell in love with it! Also, for the relaxed feel we went with a blue suit with no tie for Jim.
A Wedding in Whistler at Nita Lake
Katie and Nathan's day was filled with thoughtful details inspired by the colour palette of Nita Lake and it's surroundings. Bringing the outdoors in, tables were adorned in foraged greenery, moss and gorgeous florals. The bride's lace gown paired with the flowing blush bridesmaids gowns, and the groomsmen's dapper grey suits.

Special Cottage Hill Moments in 2014
Early spring, while the frost still clung to the grass we created our very first Cottage Hill Original to be published in The Homecoming Issue. The team including Brown Egg Bakery and Silver Cup Artists Ely Fair Photography, Juniper Designs and Christina Leigh Events jumped right in to create a sweet baby shower. Perhaps my favorite aspect of this shoot, is that our very first shoot was not a wedding, but a post-wedding story emphasizing that Cottage Hill is about more than the wedding day. You can see more from this shoot here.
