Making a House a Home

Our favorite part of featuring home tours is to see how couples and families merge their style and needs together to create a space uniquely their own. We also love to see how couples who may not feel completely at home with where they live, still make their space familiar and comforting—as is the case for Stephanie and Alex. Read more about their home from Stephanie below!

Four years ago, my husband's job in the Air Force landed us in Las Vegas, Nevada—2,500 miles from all of our family and friends back on the East coast. Although not where I envisioned we'd end up, it is here—in the middle of the desert—where we've built a house, turned it into a home, started a thriving small business, and made memories to last a lifetime.

I am a graphic designer and calligrapher specializing in wedding stationery and small business branding called Stephanie B Design. I work out of my little home office, where I serve brides and clients all over the country. Along with his full-time job, my husband, Alex, handles the administrative and money side of the business.

Alex and I both grew up in Maryland (high school sweethearts!), so our styles naturally gravitate towards a clean, white, “Eastern Shore” aesthetic. Our shiplap and barn doors are small touches that make us feel home.
