Blue Ridge Mountains Maternity Session

I had the pleasure of photographing Alicia this past September in Charlottesville during the Belle Lumiere Workshop. 

It was supposed to be a sunny day at the vineyard but ended up being overcast, which actually made for a beautiful setting.

I shot this on Portra 800 film. It worked perfectly in tandem with the overcast sky, and showed the colors of our backdrop, the Blue Ridge Mountains, just as I hoped it would.

My goal with this shoot was to show the happiness and beauty of motherhood. Alicia made this exceptionally easy for me as she already had such a natural glow to her and needed very little guidance.
