Miniature boxwood trees lined the tables of the great hall for Peyton and Johnny’s big day. Peyton and her grandmother grew the trees specifically for her wedding and shaped them so they were just right. Each detail was tended to with precision and grace to create a breathtaking scene for celebration.

Both Peyton and Johnny felt that for their wedding day to truly encompass who they are, aesthetics should be prioritized. As a designer, Peyton took on the task of creating their invitation suite so that their guests could get a glimpse of what the day would be like even before it arrived. Johnny is a photographer, so incorporating film photography to capture some of their biggest moments was important to him.

Small boxwood wreaths made from the very trees Peyton and her grandmother planted lined the ceremony aisle where she would walk to make Johnny her husband. Each detail was driven by purpose, and each thing seemed to be in its proper place, but it did not feel forced or unnatural. Everything culminated into an organic beauty that became a theme throughout the day.

The result of their combined tastes created an atmosphere that was elegant while still maintaining warmth and comfort for their guests to enjoy. The couple said their vows on the grounds of the Branch Museum of Architecture and Design in Richmond, Virginia surrounded by family and friends. The stone castle feel of the venue fit perfectly with the delicate floral garlands that draped on fireplaces throughout the building. Silver vases that belonged to the bride’s grandmother sparkled on each of the serving tables, and the wreaths that adorned to ceremony aisle transitioned nicely as center pieces for the dining tables in the great hall.

Guests sipped cocktails on the venue’s stone terrace as the sun set in the background. After drinks, dishes inspired by southern classics were served to fit with the elegant and welcoming vibe of their Virginia wedding. Once the sky’s color grew deeper and stars appeared, the band came out to set the mood for dancing. Peyton and Johnny danced along with their guests enjoying the music late into the night before preparing for a romantic sparkler send off. The couple’s guests gathered close to light up their path as they started their exit from their wedding day and into marriage. Once the couple was in the car and ready to go, Peyton tossed her bouquet from their getaway car closing out the night with as much grace and excitement as it began.
