Simply Living

We all know about spring cleaning, but the fact is our homes need attention year around. Today we are excited to share an amazing collaboration from Silver Cup Artist Lauren Jolly Photography and Hannah Smith Designs on simplifying your home. Many times we feel that simplifying our homes mean they will be less personal but these types prove that wrong. Decluttering and only keeping those things you need can truly be freeing leaving more time for your family and enjoying your space. Take a look at these tips from Hannah Smith Designs below and get to fall decluttering!

Adding live plants is a great way to bring in color to your space and give it life. Changing the plants out according to the seasons is an inexpensive way to add decor without going over budget.

Keeping a neutral pallet throughout your home will help create an intentional clean, crisp look for your space.

Using things you already have for decor serves two purposes: decor and storage. EX: Your wedding album makes for a simple, yet elegant centerpiece for  your coffee table and reminds you to reflect back and reminisce about your wedding day.

Focus on only buying what is needed for the space in which you are trying to decorate. Simple is better and “less is more.” We suggest writing out a list of what is needed rather than heading out to shop empty-handed.

If you are looking to create a bar cart feel to host parties, use your side table. This will eliminate the need to buy and store another piece of furniture.

De-clutter your home or certain areas by keeping a stylish basket nearby for quick “clean-ups.” Another option is a coffee table that serves both as a table and a storage chest.

Only set the dinner table for the amount of people you plan on hosting. Minimal silverware, plates, bowls, and glasses - only use what is truly needed! Keep it simple and practical!
