Emma + Ben
Today, we get to share a special wedding, all the way from Australia! Emma and Ben celebrated a laid-back, but elegant wedding at Emma’s family home. We love their sweet love story and her boho-chic look. Emma shared a bit more with us about their story, wedding and marriage!
How did you and your husband meet?
We were both in Japan on (separate) snowboarding trips. We met at 'the pub' one night; He was very lovely and sweet and we talked all night. We didn't exchange numbers or details, and were both leaving for Tokyo. One night I was walking along with my sister on one of the busiest streets in and the city and literally bumped straight into Ben!
How did you know he was ‘the one’?
We were just so happy and comfortable with each other, it felt so natural and 'right' from the beginning (I had never felt that before).
When planning your wedding, what was most important to you both?
To keep the wedding simple, but elegant (nothing too excessive); I always dreamt of getting married at home and it all came together; We had the wedding at my parents home in the paddock under a natural tree canopy - it was beautiful. Dad built all the furniture for the evening as well. Both my families were so very helpful and I loved that we could all put together something so beautiful and then enjoy it together whilst celebrating on our wedding day.
What would be your #1 piece of advice to other brides?
Enjoy the special moments/planning leading up to the wedding, and the people you get to share these days with, family and friends.
What is the best thing about marriage?
Being able to share all the emotional moments (happy and sad) with your husband; Always having someone you can rely on, trust in, and have someone care for you (and he knows exactly when i need it most).
Even though you haven’t been married long, what have you both learned thus far?
Communication is key :) And not dwell on the small things. Enjoy each others company and the specials things you do for each other.
