Fall Pumpkin Inspiration
We are excited to share a collaboration from two of our Silver Cup Artists, Michelle Wright Events and Live View Studios for a beautiful fall inspiration. Read about how Michelle created this beautiful pumpkin inspired decor, and come back at noon for a better look at the menu and a delicious apple rutabaga soup recipe!
Fall, with its crispness and gorgeous landscape, gives a sense of coziness and awakening after the dog days of summer. It delights every one of your senses and is truly my favorite season.
Using the soft heirloom varieties of pumpkins as inspiration, I designed this heartwarming fall shoot in a place that is dear to MY heart, the home I share with my husband.
Careful attention to detail should be given when setting your table for a special meal. I love shopping for china. Each dish is like a unique piece of art. I always shop locally at Schiffman’s, who has a wide selection of quality collectibles as well as hand painted pieces from all over the world. I ultimately landed on all white pieces with gold edging, choosing each place setting in a different pattern. I followed the same theme with the crystal glassware, using different sets with amazing patterns. Using a consistent theme while providing something unique to each place setting can provide a magical impact at your table. My love for napkins as a critical element of the place setting is inspired from years of dining with my grandmothers and great grandmothers. The napkin fold is your showstopper – it is the tie that brings everything else together…the china, the flowers, the place cards, the silverware.
Every medium of art touches the designs that we create. I was excited to bring art into this design through some of my own collection as well as some beautiful paintings provided by Fat Cat Ltd Gallery. Art is the opportunity to complete your home and your heart with movement, palette and aesthetics. The art in this shoot truly transforms our setting into a cozy and inviting room with style and warmth. We placed white birch logs in our fireplace…their texture and rarity simply makes my heart sing. They are starting to have a presence in interior design, which always folds over into event design. They bring even more softness and comfort to our setting.
