Taiwan is one of those countries that I will never get tired of traveling to again and again. My love for the country started when I was a college student while there on a church mission trip and it continued to grow after my husband, who grew up in Taiwan, and I started dating and got married. It transitioned from solely being a place of rich history for me to another home away from home. These photos were taken during our most recent trip to Taiwan where we visited Taipei, Sun Moon Lake, Taiwan’s Northern Coast, and Maokong.

One of Taiwan’s iconic buildings is Taipei 101 where we went up to the highest floor to see sweeping views of Taipei’s cityscape surrounded by lush, green mountain terrain. 

Although it is a metropolis, Taiwan’s natural beauty is only a short drive away. One of the main attractions in Central Taiwan is Sun Moon Lake where we escaped the city life and enjoyed a calm, relaxing ferry ride across the lake and toured the neighboring cities by bicycle.

Another hidden gem is Taiwan’s beautiful northern coastline. It is the home of many hiking trails filled with lush flowers, plants, and coastal views that will certainly take your breath away. During our time there, we explored Shitoushan Park and ended our hike with a view of the Twin Candlestick Islets. 

To help us unwind from all the sightseeing, we loved visiting Maokong, a mountain just south of Taipei, to experience a traditional tea tasting from tea grown on the mountain. We lingered here for hours while enjoying tea and views of the city. 

And lastly, you can’t forget about Taiwan’s street food! The delicious fruits and tasty bites kept us coming for more throughout our stay!
