Your Guide for What to Do, Where to go, and What to Eat in Asheville, North Carolina.

First, if you hadn’t heard, we dropped our very first international publication under the B.E Publishing brand!

Introducing:

B.E Away: the world’s newest and most out-of-the-ordinary magazine.

This story on Asheville is an extension of the Asheville story about solo travel and its importance for creativity. I tell the story of how I used solo travel and solo dining to get creative. This story is the official guide. It’s where I would go, what I would do and where I would eat. Read on for the goods.

Note: as someone who struggles with food allergies and tends toward vegan options, I am *starring* the restaurants with excellent attention to allergies and vegan/vegetarian options.

Cúrate*

Curate is a MUST. This is nonnegotiable when in Asheville. Be warned, you must make a reservation and you must make your reservations as early in advance as possible. Do not wait until the last minute. As far as recommendations.. everything. Everything is good here and I DREAM about this place often. Curate is one of my top 3 restaurants of all time.

Posana

Limones

I love the sexy atmosphere of Limones and the layout. The tables are closely packed together, so be aware of that if you’re not used to dining in close-quarters. For me, it reminds me of my favorite spots in New York City, so I love the layout.

Plant*

Alas, I could not get a reservation at Plant. They only accept reservations via phone and their voicemail fills up quickly. I am determined to get back to Asheville to try this elusive spot someday because I have only heard people rave about the all-vegan menu.

Vivian

That bit in B.E Away about my waitress giving me restaurant recs? This was one of them.
